In July 2012 a 15 year old boy called Robert Buchan-Terry, frustrated by the lack of activity in his local area, organised a Raspberry Jam in Machynlleth, Wales. A Raspberry Jam involves people coming together to share experiences of using the Raspberry Pi - a wildly successful £16 computer. Robert, it turned out, had spent his spare time building a solar power pack for the Raspberry Pi that he calculated would power the device endlessly, even in the UK.
